Artist Statement
The imaginary scene takes place in 1935. It is so amazing to me that as a young boy Neil Armstrong was witnessing modern airplanes with bi-wings and not too many years later he actually walked on the moon
Techniques
I do freehand designs for my quilts and then cut and piece the quilt together. I make liberal use of free-motion sewing to piece the image together and embellish it with thread drawing. I also used watercolours to paint the shadows in the moon.
Materials
Cotton blends fabric, leather, embroidery floss and different weight threads.
