Artist Statement
1969 was a tumultuous year for me and my children, but a visit from my Grandmother helped soothe and comfort us. Taking a break from the usual the two of us took the train into NYC for a day of touring. We were so caught up in our own troubles that we didn’t even remember that the launch was upcoming. Later, in conversation, we agreed that the ‘big picture’ was most important.
Techniques
Raw-edge appliqué and machine free-motion quilting.
Materials
Hand-dyed and commercial cottons.
